Mi Frida es Georgie White
During the Frida project, we first read a biography about Frida Kahlo. After reading the book we watched the movie "Frida," and looked more into what Frida's life was life. For our final product we wrote and did a frida art piece on a person of our choice this is called "Mi Frida."
Why do you think Frida Kahlo painted so many autobiographical paintings of herself?
I think Frida Kahlo painted so many autobiographical painting of herself, because she had so many emotions and feeling she needed to let our. She let out her feelings through painting and creating art.
How do you feel that your image came out?
I feel that my image came out alright, I ut lots of effort into it, but making fridas artwork and adding Georgie's life into it was very difficult for me. Also Fridas artwork is very different and abstract in a realistic way, for me that was hard to replicate.
Did you end up with the image you thought you were going to?
My image was what I thought it would look like asfor what was displayed in the image, but the way I painted it was different than I thought it would be.
What do you think of Frida and her art now that you know more about her?
I think that Frida is an amazing and resilient person, she went through so much and her paintings represent all of her feeling while she was going through it. I appreciate Frida's artwork even more now, because I understand the pain and events that went into creating them.
